Pastel Pet Portrait

Are you a pet lover?  This 7-week class is appropriate for intermediate level pastel students and will let you create a pastel portrait of any animal you adore.  First, students will concentrate on drawing their pet from a photo to strengthen drawing skills.  Then, the pet portrait will be completed in pastel, having an emphasis on modeling and shading techniques.  Bring a color photo of your dog, cat, hamster, boa constrictor, horse, etc. to the first class.  All supplies included.

Experience the drama and mystery of charcoals while learning drawing skills. Gain an understanding of charcoals, the different kinds of charcoal, their techniques and artist uses. Class art projects are designed to help participants put the learned techniques into immediate use. All levels welcome.  Class will be taught via Zoom.

Open to ages 16 and older.

  • This class will meet online via Zoom.
  • There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.
  • All members will have the fee deducted from the tuition.

  • STUDENTS WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING FOR CLASS:
  • A pencil (could be #2)
  • Kneaded eraser
  • Vinyl eraser
  • Drawing or sketch paper, charcoal paper if possible (11×14 to 16×20 is reasonable)
  • Charcoals a small assortment that may include vine, stick, and pencils.

Miniatures in Glass

This workshop will focus on creating miniature scenes and landscapes using powder and frit glass. Students can focus their time on one larger piece, or a series of smaller pieces. We will fire them in the kiln for you and they will be ready for pick up the following week.

Votive Holders

Learn to cut and grind glass to create you own slumped votive holder. We will fire them in the kiln for you and they will be ready for pick up the following week.
