“Travel” Paintings by Matt Wood
“Travel”, paintings by artist Matt Wood, are on display in the Woodbury Public Library’s Gallery Space for the month of April. Matt Wood’s reverence for the natural world rings strong in his work, from natural light gently spotlighting a lonely iceberg to animals that wander free both above and below his beautifully imaged waters. “I am often asked about what drives my work. To that I can only answer this – I have to create; it is like breathing for me. Art is how I interact with the world. My thoughts, my experiences, my reactions, and my hopes are all mediated through my canvas or my lens, and I find that for me it can’t be any other way. My art is a reflection of my life.” Wood’s paintings are on display during the library’s regular open hours, Monday – Saturday 9:30 – 4:30 and Tuesday evenings until 8:00 PM.
