

Transgender Awareness with Jillian Celentano
Jillian Celentano is a transgender woman who began her transition at age 55. She is an author, an MSW candidate, and advocate for the transgender community. Join her at the Woodbury Public Library on Saturday, November 13, 2:00 PM for a talk on Transgender Awareness. Jillian speaks at various venues across New England, is a mentor for trans youth, and has organized a support group for transgender young adults. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Albertus Magnus College, and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in social work at to become a counselor for the transgender population. She has interned for two years at the Yale Gender Program and continues to work with the transgender population. Her new book, “Transitioning Later in Life: A Personal Guide” is now available.
Jillian’s talk will be a comfortable and informal presentation to help educate people on what it means to be transgender. This will be done by sharing her personal journey, victories and hardships.
