The Hemlock Woolly Adelgid and the Hemlock Tree
Woodbury’s Conservation Commission brings Dr. Carole Cheah to the Woodbury Library in a virtual presentation regarding the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA) and Connecticut’s hemlock trees. The HWA is a serious pest of Canadian or Eastern hemlock in the northeastern states. was discovered in Connecticut in 1985 where it has spread rapidly to both cultivated and forest hemlocks. Dr. Cheah is a research entomologist expert on biocontrols of invasives for the State of CT.
