“The Great American Drive-In” with Photographer Carl Weese
A chance encounter with an abandoned Connecticut movie theater led photographer Carl Weese to use drive-in theaters as a subject; at one time there had been thousands of them across the United States, many family-owned for generations. By 2017, Carl Weese photographed drive-in theaters in forty-four states.

Carl Weese worked as a freelance assignment photographer for commercial and editorial clients including IBM, General Electric, The Torrington Company, House Beautiful Magazine, Business Week, Practical Homeowner and more. He was Contributing Editor for Photo Techniques Magazine and co-authored the book The New Platinum Print.
