The Diary of Anne Frank
March 25 @ 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
An event every week that begins at 8:00pm on Saturday, repeating until April 1, 2017
The memoirs of a young Jewish girl, Anne Frank, forced into hiding for nearly two years to avoid Nazi persecution, explores one of the darkest periods of human history. In her secret attic, Anne comes of age: she laughs, plays, fights with her mother, and falls in love for the first time. In spite of the horrors that surround her, Anne’s spirit transcends, as she voices her belief, “that people are truly good at heart.”
March 18, 24, 25, 31, April 1 @ 8pm
March 19, 26, April 2 @ 2pm
The Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect is thrilled to be invited to share the exhibition Anne Frank: A History for Today with the Thomaston community. Anne Frank’s diary is a not only a beautifully written portrayal of a young girl’s time in hiding, but also a powerful historical document that gives us an intimate glimpse into one family’s struggle against Nazi tyranny. Through our traveling exhibits, educator workshops, trainings and performance pieces, the Center shares the message of Anne’s diary to empower students, families, and communities to celebrate our differences and work together to build a world based on mutual respect.
