Taking Your Camera Off Automatic
July 11 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
An event every week that begins at 7:00pm on Tuesday, repeating until July 25, 2017
Award winning photographer Sal De Fini teaches this 3-week mini course on turning your ordinary snapshots into photographs. The course is designed for the individual who wants to move their picture taking experience to the next level. In this course, students will learn the most important camera settings on their cameras, what the settings do, how they work, and most importantly how they affect the image that is being photographed. No longer will the camera decide how a picture will look, you will! Composition will be reviewed focusing on what makes and interesting photo.
Students are required to have a digital SLR camera or advanced point and shoot camera which has the ability to change settings. Students will need to know how to locate and change the settings on their own cameras. Students will be asked to bring in 2 photos that will be reviewed in class with gentle critique.
The instructor for this course is Sal De Fini, who has been an avid photographer all his life. He acquired his skill from his father who was (for a time) a wedding photographer in NYC. Sal has moved from black and white processing in a darkroom to current digital photography. He is a member of the Oxford Greens Camera Club as well as the Connecticut Association of Photographers (CAP) and the Flanders Nature Center photography club. He has received numerous awards from both CAP and the New England Camera Club Council. His work has been seen at local Connecticut fairs and in the pages of Country Life, part of the Republican American. Sal photographs many different genres, but has an affinity for nature photography.
