Spike Brewer & The Saddle Creek Band
April 15 @ 2:00 PM - 3:30 PMFREE
The Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston presents the country band SPIKE BREWER and the SADDLE CREEK BAND in concert as part of its FREE Thomaston Winter Concert Series 2018.
Spike Brewer formed the Saddle Creek Band in 1988 after spending a couple of years as the lead singer with a local CT country group called Crossroads. Prior to forming the Saddle Creek Band, he spent a number of years performing country gospel, and country music with a positive message in his home church and various other churches, taking music and testimony to wherever asked. Playing with his lovely wife, Agnes, a son Michael, and a few friends, they played in various venues such as church fairs, services, and nursing homes. Eventually members moved on and Spike and Agnes continued with their music ministry and testimony whenever and wherever asked.
Spike continued playing with Saddle Creek Band for about fourteen years, appearing in clubs, country fairs and special events throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York until deciding it was time to stop traveling and playing clubs.
Saddle Creek now plays only special events, private parties, senior centers, and country dances. Spike and Agnes are members of the American Folk Music Association (AFMA) District Five in Connecticut as are his Saddle Creek bandmates. They attend and perform at the AFMA National Convention in Pennsylvania each August as well as playing for Association dances twice a year in Northfield, CT.
This performance will be held in the sanctuary of the:
First Congregational Church of Thomaston
135 Main Street
Thomaston, CT 06787
