Monthly Men’s Writing Group – Pints, Pies and Prose
Instructor, Chuck Jones
Wednesday, February 12th
5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
“A Men’s Writing Group” offers a workshop environment where you will find encouragement, inspiration, and instruction to become the writer you have always wanted to be. This program provides both experienced and novice writers a chance to share your work, get positive and practical feedback, and learn to revise and edit for greater clarity and interest. You can work on all genres and at your own pace. You bring the beverage, we supply the pizza and camaraderie. The fee for the monthly writing group is $35 and is limited to 8. This group will meet on the second Wednesday of each month.
** Welcome our new instructor, Chuck Jones who is a veteran educator and writing instructor with almost 50 years of experience. Chuck has been helping people understand and express themselves in a wide variety of writing genres from haikus to novels. A Graduate Fellow of the National Writing Project, Chuck has taught writing to students from middle school to graduate school. As the director of a graduate program at George Washington University, he helped ESL teachers set up writing workshops in their classrooms. An especially enjoyable part of his MFA program in theater directing at Catholic University was working with playwrights to shape their work for the stage. Several members of Chuck’s writing groups have gone on to careers as successful writers. All of them have enjoyed the relaxed and stress-free workshop format and the company of fellow writers.
