Looking for A Face Like Mine: The Changing Image of African Americans in Comic Books & Cosplay Competition!

Registration will be open until Wednesday, May 26 

Naugatuck Valley Community College Professor (retired) and comic book enthusiastWilliam Foster, will present on how the representation of African Americans in comic books has changed over time.  

 After the presentation, we will hold a small cosplay competition with prizes for first ($50 gift card for Richie’s Comic Cabana and a Museum membership) and second place ($25 gift card for Richie’s Comic Cabana and a gift bag from the Museum Shop). Cosplay is the activity or practice of dressing up as a character from a work of fiction such as a comic book, video game, or television show. Cosplay Competition registrations will happen in-person beginning at 4:30 pm at check-in.
