“Branching” paintings by Wendy Walker
Artist Wendy Walker exhibits “Branching”, a collection of paintings at the Woodbury Library. “I enjoy viewing a landscape from above, as I feel space on earth is expanded and transformed. I’ve tried to capture this experience on canvas so that the viewer has a new perspective, referenced only by atmospheric clouds free from the horizon line,” the artist says. Wendy Walker’s career began as a set designer for film, television and theatre, including Saturday Night Live, Broadway shows, Metropolitan Opera and feature films. She holds a BFA in Painting from Boston University’s School of Fine Arts, and an MS in Historic Preservation from Columbia University. Wendy Walker has studied with Ira Barkoff and her paintings have been shown at the Mattatuck Museum, the Washington Art Association, the Judy Black Memorial Gallery and Garden, and the Minor Memorial Library.
