An event every month that begins at 5:00 PM on day Third of the month, repeating until September 16, 2021
The Arts Alliance of Woodbury’s inaugural Arts Walk is set for 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 20, along Main Street from St. Paul’s Church to the North Green.
Artists, crafters, musicians, dancers and others will be on hand, offering demonstrations and works for sale, impromptu The event will be “bookended” by Studio Hill, 507 Main St. South, and The Gallery, 53 Main St. South. Those attending may plan to visit both galleries as they stroll up and down Main Street, stopping to enjoy a variety of exhibits and events along the way.
AAW member Bill Geddes said the Arts Walk is inspired by a similar event he attended in Pittsfield, Mass., where galleries open their doors for the evening, artists exhibit on sidewalks and in storefronts and restaurants offer post-walk drink or dessert specials.
“We’re looking to local residents to come outside, enjoy the evening sunset and see what our arts community has to offer,” said Mr. Geddes. “It should be a wonderful start to a new vitality with many interesting things to see.”
There is no cost to attend the AAW Arts Walk. Subsequent walks are planned for the third Thursday evening of June, July, August and September.
The all-volunteer, nonprofit Arts Alliance of Woodbury is committed to fostering the arts in Woodbury and surrounding towns.
