NANCY TUCKER @ Seth Thomas Park Thomaston
July 24 @ 7:00 PM - 8:30 PMFREE
The Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston presents NANCY TUCKER in concert as part of its FREE Thomaston Summer Concert Series 2017.
Who Is Nancy Tucker?
Nancy Tucker, a one-time biology teacher, is now an award-winning songwriter, singer, and comedian. She has been called a “one-woman fun festival.”
Her humor is based on life’s absurdities, on which she has an excellent grasp. She is an accomplished guitarist, has written and recorded countless songs on many CDs, and has been included on several compilation CDs ranging from Phil Ochs to Dr. Demento.
She took first place honors in the 2002 Connecticut Comedy Festival after a grueling 3 weeks of competition, and has appeared in a Connecticut Public Television special, at the Bushnell’s Ha! Ha! Hartford, and as a headliner throughout New England and New York, and in many original one-woman shows. Her humor is both squeaky clean and funny—something few comics can claim.
Tucker’s talents appeal to children and adults, and she can and does entertain a range of generations simultaneously and contiguously without missing a beat.
In 2004, she won an Indie Award for her outstanding achievement and exemplary dedication to the independent music industry. That same year, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award by the 2,000-member Connecticut Songwriters Association (CSA) at the organization’s 25th anniversary conference. Members of CSA, one of the oldest and best-known songwriters’ associations in the U.S., are lyricists, composers, vocalists, producers, musicians, publishers, and recording artists.
Rain location for this event is the Thomaston High School Auditorium located at 185 Branch Road (Rte. 109), Thomaston, CT 06787.
This concert is sponsored by Thomaston Lions Club and Polar Bear Treats.
Corporate sponsor for the entire summer concert series is the Thomaston Savings Bank Foundation.
