Margaret Mitchell’s “Gone with the Wind,” a Dr. Alfred Hunt lecture

January 18 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

$15

“Gone with the Wind” first captivated audiences in the 1930s and went on to become an icon of American cinema. In this lecture/discussion, we will consider the ongoing popularity of the film, and examine its role in shaping perceptions and perpetuating misconceptions of Southern history over the past 75 years.

Alfred Hunt, Professor Emeritus, SUNY, College at Purchase, is the author of works on slavery and southern history.  Twice a Fulbright Scholar, and an on-camera host for an award-winning cable show, he has been giving lectures in New England for over 20 years.
